Description
This figure raises one hand in a benevolent gesture, lending the piece a meditative aura. The rounded pattern of the wood grain around the lower arm evokes rippling water, further adding to the tranquil nature of the work.
Hideo Sawada’s beautifully hand carved figures are a matchless example of a modern application of traditional techniques, balancing the abstract with gentle suggestions of emotion and human form.
