Ash & Plumb is the artistic collaboration between Barnaby Ash and Andrew Plumb, established in June 2020. Working together in their workshop nestled in the South Downs, they specialise in creating distinctive and individual wooden sculptures and functional works using locally, reclaimed and sustainably sourced British woods aiming to honour the life of the tree through their work
Using their favoured, responsibly sourced, green oak in their work, the pairing collaborates with their material of choice in a way that celebrates the inherent character and beauty of the material they work with.
Drawing inspiration from ancient and archetypal forms, Ash & Plumb's artistic practice merges tradition with contemporary art. Their ability to infuse a sense of timelessness and rootedness into their creations is a hallmark of their work. With their technical skills and deep respect for traditional craftsmanship, they create sculptures and vessels that are both beautiful and steeped in historical significance.
