Description
Michihiro specialises in wheel-throwing and wood-firing, while Kumiko applies meticulous Mishima (zōgan) inlay, a technique originating in Korea in which finely carved lines are filled with white clay to create intricate surface patterns. Kumiko carefully incises delicate lines into the clay and fills them with white slip, forming gentle illustrations of florals, fruits, and natural motifs alongside finely composed decorative patterns. Each carving is unique, varying subtly from piece to piece and giving every work its own character.
