Description

This striking Tsubo jar, crafted from Cornish stoneware, showcases the beauty of an unglazed surface adorned with heavy ash deposits from the Anagama firing process. The deep, earthy tones evoke a sense of natural elegance, with the jar’s large, round body that curves in towards the opening. The interplay of texture and form creates a harmonious balance between simplicity and depth, making this piece both timeless and captivating.

About the Artist

Working together under the name Popalini & Jezando, Pop Wilkinson and Jez Anderson make collaboratively designed pots, with a particular focus on teaware. They take influence from the traditional pottery of North Devon, which is where they are both from, and also from the subtle understated forms they admired whilst researching wood-firing in Japan
