In this series, the quiet clarity of white stoneware is paired with expressive surface detail. The forms are softly curved and carefully defined, finished with a smooth matt white glaze that settles into a refined, stone-like surface.
Across this calm base, copper painting introduces abstracted bamboo motifs. Fired to deep grey-green tones, the marks emerge with both subtlety and contrast against the pale surface. The markings are loose and atmospheric, suggesting bamboo forms rather than describing them directly.
These hazy, gestural details bring a sense of movement to the restrained forms, offering an elegant and quietly playful interpretation of a classic motif.

Youyou Wang is an emerging ceramic artist who has recently graduated from Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martins. Wang creates unique, handmade works with a signature blend of form and function.
