Formed in white stoneware and finished with a matt glaze and 100% silver lustre, this series emphasises clarity of form and material. The silver surface settles into a soft, muted finish that interacts gently with light, creating a subtle luminosity across each piece.

The silhouettes combine measured curves with clean, defined lines. Rounded volumes meet precise edges, creating forms that feel both deliberate and restrained. The quiet sheen of the silver lustre brings a refined contrast to the pale clay body, allowing the work to move between modern reduction and the enduring language of classical ceramic form.

About the Artist 

Youyou Wang is an emerging ceramic artist who has recently graduated from Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martins. Wang creates unique, handmade works with a signature blend of form and function. In her hands, these vessels transcend their utilitarian roots, becoming works of art to be savoured and admired. Wang’s teapots, coated in soft whites, sandy browns and deep blacks, stand as eloquent examples of less being more.

In Wang’s works, simplicity and serenity are the keys to beauty, and her work exemplifies this philosophy, offering an impression of a world where art and functionality seamlessly intertwine.  As an emerging artist, her exploration of form is an exciting journey, and it is clear that she has already established a unique and captivating aesthetic.
