Hyejeong Kim’s collection of clean flowing minimal forms, are breathtaking in their simplicity and soft glaze.
Describing her work Hyejeong Kim explains-
‘The clay body of my pots has recently started to show movement, as they have become much thinner and more flexible in shape. I have welcomed this naturally deformation while experimenting with these organic shapes in the material and new series of “Carpel” has emerged.'
“Carpel”-Seed producing, reproductive organ in flowering plants. The word is derived from ovule-bearing leaves. Achieved by folding and fusing at there edges.
