Celia Dowson's set 'Water Pools,' a set of clear, transparent whites of slightly differing sizes, radiates a serene and pure essence, reminiscent of water in its pristine form. Each bowl's smooth, fluid shape mirrors the gentle ebb and flow of water, inviting tactile exploration of their essence.

Within each bowl, glass droplets are suspended like delicate raindrops, caught in a moment of suspended animation. Their presence adds a poetic and organic touch, evoking the natural beauty of water's own artistry. These bowls are grounded by small, flat surfaces at their bases, a testament to the artist's ability to fuse simplicity and functionality.

This glass bowl set, comprising three small bowls, is a testament to Celia Dowson's expertise in capturing the ever-changing beauty of water's form. About the Artist

Celia Dowson is an artist whose ceramics and cast glass objects go far beyond their functional use. Celia graduated with a BA in Ceramic Design from Central Saint Martins in 2014, before receiving her MA in Ceramics and Glass from the Royal College of Art in 2018. Her work is currently on display in the permanent collection of the V&A. 

Celia works with the different properties of glass and porcelain to evoke the movement of nature in different ways. Through marks and gestures, her porcelain vessels represent evolving landscapes, mountainscapes and seascapes. Her glass pieces vary in thickness, causing subtle gradations in colour. This reflects the colours, changing light and mystery of the natural world.
