Care: Nobue Ibaraki’s work is food safe but not certified. Due to the porous nature of the clay, it will absorb moisture from food if used as tableware. Not suitable for microwaves, dishwashers or ovens.

Description:

Nobue Ibaraki is a Japanese artist with exquisite craftsmanship. A symphony of nature and alchemy, Ibaraki builds earthenware vessels with an intriguing mix of organic and chemical processes. The soft earthy glaze containing cobalt, copper and other metal oxides enrich the surface and reacts gently with the heat from the kiln and the minerals in the clay, which are sourced locally in Tajimi, Japan. Her classic shapes and muted colour palettes evoke a sense of buried treasure or lost origins, whilst simultaneously maintaining refined and elegant forms.

The square plate rests impeccably, perfect for holding jewellery or special items. It has an earth finish, with hints of ecru hues that move softly from beneath the base, and across the linear body. With a lightly grained texture, the one-of-a-kind forms preserve the natural characteristics of the clay.

Please note - as these pieces are hand made the glaze, surface patterns and exact size will vary in each piece.
