Description

This striking geometric container combines angular cuts of clay with the organic texture of Cornish stoneware. The exterior, bathed in an iron wash, is enriched by heavy ash deposits from the Anagama firing, creating a raw yet refined finish. Inside, a delicate Celadon liner contrasts with the golden elegance of a 24ct gold Kintsugi repair, subtly drawing attention to the imperfections that make the piece uniquely beautiful.

About the Artist

Working together under the name Popalini & Jezando, Pop Wilkinson and Jez Anderson make collaboratively designed pots, with a particular focus on teaware. They take influence from the traditional pottery of North Devon, which is where they are both from, and also from the subtle understated forms they admired whilst researching wood-firing in Japan
