We are pleased to share 'Chōwa: The Search for Balance',  honouring a diverse group of contemporary Japanese artists working across glass, ceramics, wood, metal, and more. Whether rooted in tradition or the experimental, each work speaks to a living, evolving dialogue between material, process and artist.

MATERIAL & METHOD

An exhibition celebrating the artistry of process, and the ways in which artists across disciplines commit themselves to a method, exploring its traditions, limits, and expressive possibilities. Featuring works by Jack Doherty, Nancy Fuller, Keiichihiro Hayamizu, Jaejun Lee, Annette Lindenberg, Marco Minetti, Kate Schuricht.

RITUAL OBJECTS

Featuring work by Abigail Schama, Yoko Ozawa, Kumiko and Michihiro Domoto,Popalini & Jezando, pachadesign and Youyou Wang the exhibition considers the vessel in its broadest sense: object, gesture, presence. Some pieces are designed for daily rituals, others for quieter moments of reflection; some echo familiar domestic forms, while others lean toward the sculptural, inspired by objects, memories, or imagined uses.

PRESENCE IN MINIATURE

'Presence in Miniature' celebrates the quiet intensity of small-scale artworks, pieces that don’t demand attention through size, but invite it through intimacy, intricacy, and presence. 

Featuring contemporary artists working in glass, wood and ceramics, the exhibition gathers works that reward close looking.

TRACES OF PROCESS

Maud & Mabel is proud to present ‘Traces of Process: The Soul of the Surface’, an international group exhibition running from 2nd to 18th October 2025. This show brings together eight contemporary craft artists working inwood and clay, each exploring the surface as a site of innovation, transformation, and narrative depth.

yAwArAkAi kArA – THE REFLECTING SKIN

Maud & Mabel is delighted to announce 'yAwArAkAi kArA – The Reflecting Skin', an evocative exhibition hosted in the tranquil setting of 4 Cromwell Place. Bringing together the works of acclaimed ceramicists Akiko Hirai and Kenta Anzai, this show coincides with the celebration of London Craft Week, offering an intimate exploration of surface, substance, and the interplay between strength and fragility.

KOTO NO HA

With her chosen title 'Koto no Ha', referencing the old Japanese for "words", Yamada reflects on her contemplation of fragments - of events, of things, of nature. Rooted in a uniquely Japanese culture of subtlety and consideration, her works invite viewers to interpret and reflect, much like words left between the lines.

RETURN TO FORM

Born in Newcastle and currently based in London, Carey nurtured his love for clay from an early age and proceeded to obtain a BA and MA from the Glasgow School of Art and the Royal College of Art, respectively. Carey's talent was quickly recognised, earning him two Designer of the Year awards and leading to collaborations with prestigious clients such as Conran, John Lewis, Calvin Klein, and Gwyneth Paltrow's 'Goop.'

NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY

'Nothing Gold Can Stay', an exhibition honouring the transient beauty of nature. It brings together eight international contemporary artists who skilfully capture this essence using materials sourced from the earth. Embracing the passage of time, their works infuse fleeting moments with enduring significance. From Sarah Jerath's organic ceramic forms to Suna Imre's meditative clay creations, each artist transforms simplicity into artistry.

MUSUHI むすひ

A group exhibition showcasing eleven innovative contemporary artists and craftspeople emerging from Japan. There is a phenomenon in the emergence of their work, an animism of the kiln, a presence in the formation, or an unspoken influence of the landscape. Forming an exciting ensemble of Ceramics, Wood, Painting, and Glass - these artists conjure a life force that emanates from the material.

COLLECT 2024

In a harmonious blend of creativity and craftsmanship, Maud & Mabel are delighted to announce our participation at COLLECT 2024, the leading international fair for contemporary craft and design. Showcasing works by 17 established and emerging artists from around the world, our exhibition highlights the deep connection between the artist and their craft.

BUILT

'Built' celebrates the art of hand-crafted works and processes. This showcase is an ode to the meticulous and intricate art of hand-building ceramics, featuring a remarkable lineup of artists who have mastered this unique craft to create singular forms. Each artist featured in Built possesses a unique story, reflecting their artistic evolution and profound connection to hand-building techniques.
