Description

Saeam Kwon’s work reflects a deep respect for process, material, and restraint. Focused on creating fine stoneware, their work combines minimalist sillhouettes with traditional sensibilities, using textured clay contrasted by delicate details and lightness. Each work possesses a dainty form, with considered sculpting and meticulous shaping.

Playing with motions of shadow and light, Saeam layers light clay with deep ochre glazes, a harmony that is elegantly contrasted by the sharp angles of the vessel. Proportion and weightlessness is given significant attention, with each piece harnessing a true sense of joy and skill in sculpting, shaping, and transforming otherwise simple tableware.

Through thoughtful pieces, technical craftsmanship, and a refined elegance, Saeam seeks to bring the act of tea drinking closer to everyday life.
