Shun Kumagai Glass Vessel 6

£1,820.00

Dimensions: H 17cm x W 29cm x L 26cm

Materials: Glass, natural metal oxides

Method:  Shun Kumagai creates his beautifully anachronistic glass pieces by combining lost wax casting with a coil building technique, traditionally used in with clay. The glass is coloured with natural metal oxides like copper, iron, or cobalt, and traces of clay and earth.

Care: Can hold water. To clean, carefully wipe with a damp cloth

Description:

A charmingly fluid bowl, Kumagai’s use of earthy texture and sea-blue glass complement each other to create a unique piece that finds beauty in imperfections and evokes the natural world, balancing an appreciation of ancient glass crafts and Japanese ceramics.
