Ann's newest body of work boasts sleek, poetic forms, in perfect soft tones with a few rich touches of colour!
Belgium born Ann Van Hoey studied ceramics Institute for Arts and Craft in Mechelen Graduating in 2006 after previous studying Masters in Applied Economic Sciences at the University of Antwerp in 1979. In 2011 Ann became a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and has had her work exhibited in countless exhibitions world wide, including Korea, China, the USA, Italy, Taiwan etc. She has also been awarded prizes and had work selected for many international competitions.
Ann’s designs take the geometry of Japanese zen gardens as inspiration. The Japanese art of origami is also hugely significant, informing the technique through which she re-assembles her cuttings of clay to create the finished form.
